What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy is a multidisciplinary device used in orthopaedics, physiotherapy, and sports medicine along with other disciplines. Its main benefits are fast pain relief and mobility restoration. it is a non-surgical therapy with no need for painkillers, making it ideal for speeding up recovery and curing various indications that cause acute or chronic pain

Shockwave uses an acoustic wave which carries high energy pulsations to painful muscles and musculoskeletal tissues with sub-acute, sub-chronic and chronic conditions. The energy delivered by Shockwave promotes regeneration and repair of bones, tendons and other soft tissues.

The initial appointment is 45 minutes long and will include a full assessment and a minimum of 15 minutes of treatment. Following sessions can go from 15 to 60 minutes depending on the type of injury. Shockwave appointments are only performed once a week to allow the injured area to rest.
